It's Just the Nearness of You

This post has been a long time coming! It's definitely time for me to catch up with all my blogging. Megan and Dan got married this past fall at the Stonehedge Inn and Spa in Tyngsboro, MA. Talk about a beautiful location! There were a million and one places for us to take pictures. I could have kept them out there all day, walking around the grounds and stopping every once in a while for photos. Their wedding fell on a day when it was just starting to get chilly. They persevered though, and the outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch. They had plenty of blankets and quilts for guests to use, which was the perfect touch. Here are some images from the day.

So, Megan happens to be extremely crafty. She made her own garter! Isn't it awesome? She also made her shawl, which you can see in the other photos, and she made shawls for her bridesmaids! The work was so intricate and beautiful!

The autumn cake was made by Jacques Pastries. It was such a fun cake to photograph - the autumn colors just permeated all the details of the wedding.

And, of course, the happy couple.

Life And Love Are The Same

Photographing itty bitty babies is one of the best perks of my job! Before the holidays, I had the pleasure of photographing mom's maternity session. I returned to visit merely twelve days after the family welcomed their new baby home. I think this is the first time I've ever photographed a newborn who stayed awake for the entire session! Normally, at least half the shoot is spent photographing a sleeping baby! I hope this isn't a bad sign for mom and dad!

Baby's first close-up! Look at how precious she is. It's so amazing when such young babies actually seem engaged by the camera. Makes me so happy!

Mommy and baby having a quiet moment. I'm pretty sure in the other room, people were building castles and knocking them down. You can't hear that in the photo, though!

This photo just makes me laugh! Both girls' expressions are priceless!

It is always such an honor for me to be present in a family's home right after they bring home a new baby. It can be such a crazy time, so I know it's not always easy to open your door to a stranger, or a near-stranger, but I always find the end result is worth it! I am so in love with these family photos. J & A, I hope you love these photos of your girls as much as I do! Congratulations!

You Called Me Sugar

How excited was I when Pink sang this song last night on the Grammy's? Oddly enough, when I was making this video, I chose it sort of randomly because I only have one album on my laptop's iTunes - Pink's "Funhouse." It was meant to be the song I experimented with, but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it and the more I thought it fit with the video. I'm not sure where all this experimentation will take me, and I know I have a lot more work to do, but I'm pretty proud of the results! Thanks to Adriane & Dave who willingly agreed to be my guinea pigs through this process And, of course, thanks to Doug who actually did the filming. So to all my 2010 clients out there, be prepared- this might be you!
