Kim & Matt got married on the 4th of July of this year and it was a gorgeous day for a wedding! Sure, the weather was great, but in addition to that, everyone was so excited to be together to celebrate this marriage! Clearly it was meant to be and they had the love and support of all their family and friends.
Emily and I went to meet up with the groom and his groomsmen first. When we showed up at 8a and they were all ready for photos, I knew they were my kind of people. Are you kidding me?! They were so on top of it. Here is a photo of the very handsome groom.
This guy, although not officially part of the wedding party, is definitely an important part of Kim & Matt's life together. Meet Doc. Emily grabbed this great portrait of him while I was working with the guys.
This photo of Kim just looked so romantic! She made such a beautiful bride.
Their ceremony at St. Clements Castle overlooked the Connecticut River. Since we've been having a lot of rain this summer, all the greenery is so lush and beautiful!
A portrait of the newlyweds!
So happy together! They both have such infectious smiles.
This is actually the second wedding I've photographed at St. Clements Castle and it is a gorgeous location, full of photo opportunities! Kim & Matt, congratulations! Your wedding was gorgeous and it was an honor to be a part of it! To see more photos from the day, take a look at their slideshow.

This Is The Day I Make You Mine
Wow! Time really flies! I photographed Erica and Tim's wedding just about a month ago and am finally getting some photos up on the blog. Their wedding was so wonderful - totally intimate and beautiful. When Erica first spoke with me about photographing it, it was a "no bells and whistles" sort of affair. They kept it really simple, but man oh man, was it gorgeous! For a wedding with no bells and whistles, all the little details were there, and we got to celebrate on The Roof of The Taj. Not bad!
Erica's wedding dress. And can I tell you she looked totally smashing in it?!
Tim and Erica decided to have a "first look" so that they could enjoy the photos but then also enjoy cocktail hour after the ceremony. It worked out perfectly since it started raining soon after (like all of June). Look at the groom just soaking it all in.
Erica & Tim used the itty bitty bake shop for their favors. The little cookie cubes looked great on all the tables.
A fun night shot out the window of The Taj.
And, here's the bride rocking it out with DJ Paul.
To see the full story of their wedding day (and to see how big the groom's family really is), watch their slideshow here!
Erica & Tim, congratulations! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day!

The Canvas Can Do Miracles
You're probably wondering where I've been...
I've been in my office, editing. I'm working on Erica & Tim's wedding as well as Kim & Matt's, so that's got me rather busy. Plus, I decided to enjoy whatever I could of the summer (which has been difficult with the rain) and Doug and I went to Maine for a couple of days, which was awesome. I also had a birthday this past week (not a milestone, but still a good reason to hang out with friends and family). I've got pictures of everything, of course, so at some point, I'll try to post a few. In the meantime, here are a few of my session with Liz and Teddy. They live in NYC, are getting married in Connecticut, and we had their engagement shoot in Boston. Teddy is a sailor, so we found a cool location by the water to hang out.
There were a lot of stairs around and they were so much fun to incorporate into the shots.
It was super windy on the water (which I guess we should have expected) which meant everyone's hair was all over the place. It made for an exciting shoot. It's a fun challenge to snap photos in between gusts of wind! Liz and Teddy were definitely patient with me.
I'm really looking forward to their wedding next month. Rumor has it, I might be able to take pictures on a boat! Until then, I'll try to be better about posting. Hope you all are enjoying the warm weather (finally!)!

You Always Have My Unspoken Passion
Shelly & Tyler have been patiently waiting to see some photos from their wedding and finally they get their sneak peek! These are some fun photos from throughout the day!
The gorgeous dress!
Shelly & Tyler opted to have a "first look," which means they saw each other before the ceremony to take photos. We still want to make sure our couples have that special surprise moment, so we arrange a few minutes where the bride gets to sneak up on the groom like so...
The wedding party goofing off. In the interest of full disclosure, they were just following directions.
My second shooter, Emily, grabbed this beautiful cake shot.
More fun!
The very happy, and in love, couple.
The wedding was held at Regatta Place in Newport, RI. The ceremony was supposed to be outside, but with the June rain came the indoor ceremony. I have to applaud the staff at Regatta Place. They had both locations set up so that the bride and groom could wait until the last minute to make their decision. I have to say, the ceremony under the tent was beautiful! The whole night was a blast - great music, great dancing, great people. Congratulations, Shelly & Tyler!

I Think I've Got Cabin Fever
What's a girl to do when it rains and rains and rains? Tonight I am going to the House of Blues to see Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine which should be wicked fun! My good friend Michael introduced me to his music and it's pretty much the swankiest thing ever. He sings lounge versions of all sorts of popular songs - rap, rock, TV themes, you name it. Before I go, though, I wanted to post some photos from my maternity session with Christine and Corey. I would love to say we shot these back when the sun was out, but that's not even true. It was a very overcast day that kept threatening to rain. Apparently some things never change.
What a gentleman, right? Corey was a trooper and totally participated in 90% of the photos.
Love this one! The sun came out for a few minutes, strong enough for some great shadows! Look at that belly!
Corey and Christine decorated the nursery themselves - including painting all those polka dots and stripes. It looks awesome! Their little girl is going to love her room for a LONG time!
Meet the other members of the family - Tek and Tyson.
Thanks, Corey and Christine, for traipsing all over the place with me! Only one month left!
