Moons and Junes and Ferris Wheels

This is my second installment of photos from my days at Inspire Boston. This live shoot was led by the super-cool Carla Ten Eyck, who happens to be one of my favorite New England photographers. This woman knows how to rock a shoot! Before we got to the actual photographing, Carla talked a bunch about posing - how to do it smartly and efficiently. We were lucky to have seasoned models to work with, Jen and Jerome Braga of Studio 1923. Sure, they're not professional models, but they are professional photographers, which meant they were extremely patient. Carla had a lot of "students" in this seminar and she made sure that every single one of us went up and had an individual turn. She definitely called me out on lingering in the background. Oh well. Here are some of the photos I snagged over the course of the day...

In case you're curious, the make-up was done by the Jennie Fresa Beauty Library and the fur stole is from The White Dress by the Shore. It was my understanding that the wedding dress was Jen Braga's actual wedding dress, which was pretty cool. Frankly, the whole experience was pretty cool.

In other news, I've got yet another cold, which comes right on the heels of an ankle injury, so it's been sort of a long couple of weeks. My friend from grad school is in town from Los Angeles working on a TV pilot and having a houseguest has been great. When she originally asked Doug & I if we would mind her staying here, we discussed it and figured it wouldn't be too bad; she'd be working most of the time, anyway. Well, it has been wonderful. I feel like I'm in college. We all do our own separate things during the day and then at night, we have a little post-game wrap-up discussion, hanging out in our pjs, watching tv, and then we all go to bed. She's been here just over two weeks now and I'm going to be a little sad to see her go.

Of course, I have other sessions to edit and post (laziness gets in the way, as well as a great book on Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Carly Simon. Hopefully I'll kick this cold and get back to normal soon (whatever normal is).
