Spending the day with Amy & George in North Fork, Long Island was just awesome all around. Doug and I got up early, drove to New London, CT, and then hopped on the Long Island ferry. Honestly, it was a pretty easy process. Easy enough for me to want to spend another day in Long Island wine country, for sure. On the way to our meeting spot, we passed about 30 wineries. Very tempting.
Our first stop was the beach where Amy & George got engaged. The weather was perfect!
Next, we headed over to a winery. Before we started with the photos, we definitely sat down, drank a bottle or two of wine, and ate some cheese. The perfect afternoon break! We snuck them into the vineyard for a few quick shots. Luckily no one bothered us.
These guys were so easy to photograph. They smile & laugh easily, especially with each other.
Doug and I had so much fun exploring North Fork. Amy & George, thanks for being wonderful hosts! I can't wait for your wedding in Bryant Park next summer!

Radio On Baby
Here are some of the things that have been keeping me busy this summer...
I've been growing tomatoes in my teeny tiny urban garden (a pot on my terrace). I had no idea how much I would enjoy watching the tomatoes grow. So far, I've grown two and there are three growing on the plant now. This photo shows you what we did with the first two - mozzarella & tomato salad! Look at how red and delicious they are! I was so proud of myself!
Doug and I took a day trip to the North Fork of Long Island for an engagement shoot. It was such a fun and easy trip! All we had to do was drive to New London, CT and then drive on to the Cross Sound Ferry and then we were there! So, these are a couple of photos from the ferry. One of those viewfinders:
And one of us:
We've also been trying to go to as many concerts as possible. It's been pretty awesome. I've seen Carole King & James Taylor (twice), Jimmy Buffett, She & Him, Keane (with Ingrid Michaelson), and Ray LaMontagne & David Gray. Plus, I got to go to the Grease Sing-along for my birthday. I've always been a big concert goer but the past couple of years, we've experienced a resurgence. Listening to live music just makes me happy. This photo is from the Ray LaMontagne/David Gray concert the other night at Harborlights.

We Stick Together, We Can See It Through
Yes, I know. I used to be a good blogger. This summer has been insane, of course. Tonight Doug told me that he'd like to help me blog. I knew that wasn't a good sign - clearly this has gone on too long. For me, though, this post was worth the wait!
The other day, I had the pleasure of hanging out with L & J at their house. I could have photographed them all day! Rarely do I encounter a 2 yr old who is so cooperative! L is older and a bit more introspective than J is (she's the ham), but you can also tell he's protective of her. They are close enough in age that they play together and seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company. It was awesome. Here are some of my favorites from the day:
After playing inside for a little while, we made a move outside. Drawing on the sidewalk with chalk is a BIG hit in this household! YOU might not be able to tell, but there are a lot of chalk Buzz Lightyears on this sidewalk!
And sometimes I love a good serious photo. Especially when the kids are this cute!
I will try to be back with more photos soon! Until then, survive the heat!
