I Offer You My Heart

Katie & Ryan got married last month in Bethlehem, PA. What a fun road trip that was for me & Emily! And let me tell you, it was so worth the drive. Everything about this wedding, and this couple, was absolutely beautiful. Exquisite. Everything from the bride's shoes to the speeches. It's a good thing my camera obscures most of my face because I'm pretty sure I cried a little. I'm also sure I was in good company.

She's Always Been A Lady of the Road

The title of this post comes from the song "Rock and Roll Madonna."

On Valentine's Day, Doug and I went to the the Acton Jazz Cafe to listen to some jazz and hang out. On the wall there was this really cool photo of a woman's foot in a stiletto and there was just something about it that captured my attention. First of all, it looked uncomfortable - the "beauty is pain" philosophy manifested in a photo. Second, it was just the back of the shoe - you couldn't see the toes at all. This past weekend, when I saw that one of my clients was wearing the fishnets and the black heel, I decided it was my turn to try to recreate that photo. It's obviously not the same, nor would I want it to be, but I'm really happy with the results.

This photo doesn't exactly go with this post, but I took it the same day, so I'm throwing it in here. Not to bring up the whole nostalgia thing again, but I've had to let go of a lot of "stuff" over the past few months. Yesterday, it was my first fancy dress. I loved this dress... it was forest green velvet on top and green satin on the bottom. There were rhinestones on the sleeves. I even remember the brand name - Zum Zum. Does that ring a bell for anyone? And it was expensive! But, I had a black tie party to go to - my grandfather's 75th birthday celebration. I think I was in 6th grade, which was still elementary school for me. Can you imagine being 12 and going to a black tie party with the adults? My younger brother even wore a tux! Needless to say, there are plenty of photos of me in the dress floating around. I just needed to take one more.
