Close Your Eyes and Trust It

I'm trying something new today - a blog collage! Woo hoo! I learn something new every day. Doug and I traveled out to San Diego in September to photograph Adriane & Dave's awesome wedding. They got married at the beach on Coronado, with the Hotel del Coronado (and, of course, the Southern California landscape) in the background. The hotel holds a special place in my heart because they filmed Some Like It Hot there. If you haven't seen it, get to it.

Our base of operations in SD was the W Hotel and Adriane & Dave found themselves occupying the "Extreme Wow" suite, which was pretty amazing. Rumor has it that Tiger Woods shacked up there for a few weeks and the ladies just went in and out. Thank goodness for talkative hotel staff, huh?

This collage represents just a small fraction of the hotness that was their wedding. These two people are so much in love - it was an honor to be there to photograph their wedding day.

Standing By The Ocean's Roar

Maeve is quite possibly one of the funniest little girls I've ever met. She is full of boundless energy and totally knows her own mind. In addition to that, she had this crazy maniacal laugh that sounded a little creepy coming out of the mouth of an angelic looking toddler with blonde ringlets. Every time she laughed like that, her parents and I couldn't help but laugh along with her. It was pretty hysterical. We spent the day hanging out at Lynch Park in Beverly, MA. If you haven't been there, it's awesome. It's great for photographers - lots of different options in one location - and it's great for families, for the same reasons!

So cute! I get to work with the coolest family and this one was no different! We had such a fun afternoon.

Things have been a little crazy over here. What else is new, huh? My little sister has been staying with me and Doug since Sunday and she will be here until this coming Sunday. It certainly keeps us busy. Today she gave me a little makeover. How she got so good at doing eye make-up, I will never know. Tomorrow night we are going to see Julian Velard in concert which will be so much fun! Doug and I went to see him this winter and it was great. It's an all-ages show so we're bringing Tessa along for the ride this time.

I'm in the midst of editing a few weddings and trying to get other stuff done, but I will try not to ignore the blog! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Let's Hear it For the Boys

A day at the beach. I met up with this family at Singing Beach, which I hadn't been to in forever. We were lucky to have some nice weather before autumn really set in. I got to play in the ocean one last time which was great for the soul but not great for keeping my pants dry! My friend Charlie is a very active two year old and we just ran around and around and around. This is a photo of Charlie and his dad...



Since today is VOTING DAY and I've already voted, I think I might treat myself to a movie this afternoon. It's always a good day for the movies!

Barefoot Children

You'll have to dig into your Jimmy Buffett catalog for that song, but it will be worth the trip! Last week I had a session with a really cool family up on the coast of the Atlantic. Despte lots of biting bugs and a sand-eating baby, we had a lot of fun! Here are some of the photos from our evening.






I also had a shoot last week with Jovee. There are a ton of photos to go through, and I have to edit wedding photos first, but I couldn't resist this one - it was just too cute. Plus, it totally fits under the title of this post!

Say That You Remember...

Another weekend, another wedding. Two down, four to go! Jill & Luke got married on July 8, 2007. "Say That You Remember" is a line from the Earth, Wind, and Fire song "September," which played when they made their entrance as man and wife. Aw. They were (and are) adorable! Jill never stopped smiling; they were both giddy. And I have to say, Luke had some definite moves on the dance floor. Holler!

My next wedding is at the end of July. I'm just gaining momentum fot the 3 in a row I have in August. Criminy! I had a great shoot with an actor last night, so those will be the next photos I work on. Busy busy busy...
