My & Tony: 'Cause We Gon' Rock This Club

Before I turn in for the night, I wanted to share a ring shot from today's wedding...

My & Tony's reception was held at Chau Chow in Dorchester. One of the 11 courses we were served for dinner was lobster.

Let's Go Out & Feel the Night

Jenna and Patrick got married on a very rainy day in July at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA. The plan was outdoor ceremony, outdoor photos, indoor reception. Torrential downpours changed all that. Did it matter? Nope! My bride and groom didn't complain - their focus was getting married and no rain was going to get in the way of that!

A detail shot of Jenna's gorgeous wedding dress.

I love this photo!

So, there's some inside joke about this Cabbage Patch doll and the bridesmaids, so we incorporated her into the ring shots. Of course, I placed her all over the reception as well, but I like this one best.

A ceremony photo! Jenna & Patrick were nothing if not expressive.

Since the rain kept us inside for formals, we made use of some lighting and went for dramatic and moody in the barn.

Dancing as husband & wife! Jenna & Patrick's first dance was to "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young. I have been to a lot of weddings and this was definitely the first time I had heard that as an opening song. In preparation for this blog post, I looked up the lyrics and they are beautiful! Here's a snippet:

"When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon."

And I couldn't post Jenna & Patrick's wedding without including a photo of Patrick's dancing groomsmen. This dude really turned it out. I'm pretty sure there was an intense dance-off immediately following these moves.

Jenna and Patrick, thank you so much for making me a part of your day! Your families and friends are awesome and I can't wait to see you both again!

I Offer You My Heart

Katie & Ryan got married last month in Bethlehem, PA. What a fun road trip that was for me & Emily! And let me tell you, it was so worth the drive. Everything about this wedding, and this couple, was absolutely beautiful. Exquisite. Everything from the bride's shoes to the speeches. It's a good thing my camera obscures most of my face because I'm pretty sure I cried a little. I'm also sure I was in good company.

The bride got ready at the Hotel Bethlehem, which was beautiful! It also served as a backdrop for photos later on that day.

The reception was at the Saucon Valley Country Club and it was a beautiful place for a party. This group knew how to dance! To see more of the wedding and some of the hijinks, check out Katie & Ryan's slideshow. I think you'll quickly realize why it was such a fun wedding to photograph!

Katie & Ryan, congratulations to the both of you! Thanks for having Emily & I down to PA to photograph your celebration!

For You I Share The Cup of Love That Overflows

It just goes to show you that a hurricane doesn't always dampen your spirits! Marietta and Pete celebrated their wedding the same day that the remnants of Hurricane Danny hit the coast of New England. It didn't faze them one bit! Their wedding was so beautiful and heartfelt. I am so happy to finally share these photos!

Marietta's dress was so beautiful!

This is one of the flower girls. She hadn't quite woken up yet. I can't help but love this photo of her!

The ceremony was wonderful. They incorporated some Filipino traditions into the service, all of which were new to me. You can see in this photo a veil is draped around Marietta & Pete. This veil symbolizes two people becoming one. There is also a cord around them in the shape of an infinity sign and it symbolizes the bond of marriage.

The rings! One of the couples' friends folded up a dollar bill into a heart which made it the perfect ring prop.

Since the wedding started early and ended early, we were able to take advantage of the fact that there was no rain at the end of the day! And since it had rained all day, there were also no golfers outside. That meant we could walk around the The Quidnessett Country Club a bit for photos. You can see that even though the rain had stopped, we were still dealing with wind!

I couldn't have asked for a nicer wedding. I had an awesome second shooter (go, Rich), an awesome couple, and adventurous weather! If you want to see more from the wedding, click here for the slideshow!

If I Could Take You Up In Paradise Up Above

Liz and Teddy were so excited to get married! Really. I don't think I've ever seen two people smile so much in one day. It was totally infectious. They had a beautiful and unique wedding at The Essex Yacht Club in Essex, CT. The ceremony was held right on the shores of the Connecticut River, in front of Teddy's family's gorgeous sailboat. Could it get any better than that?

We started off at Liz's mom's house, where the women got their hair done.

Liz & Teddy saw each other before the ceremony so we were able to enjoy some photo time together. We even got to go on the boat! Here's the fun fact I learned about sailboats that day - all those colorful flags stand for letters of the alphabet!

Ring shots! There was an ice cream sundae bar (yum), so what sort of photographer would I be if I didn't make use of some of the toppings? And, one of the "themes" of the wedding was lemon & limes, so I made use of those, too!

Emily and I had such a wonderful time photographing this wedding! I've known Liz for like 11 years now (yikes!) and it was such an honor to be there to celebrate this couple. I got to see some familiar faces that I haven't seen in forever, which is always fun. Liz & Teddy (& Liz's mom) have been very patient waiting for these photos, so thank you for that. Congratulations!

Sweetheart, I'm Telling You...

Here comes the zoo,
Here comes success!
- "Success," Iggy Pop

After many hours of research and and screwing things up, I finally figured out how to apply textures to my photos! Look out world, here I come!

This ring shot came from the wedding I shot the other night. Aren't they gorgeous?
